Transferring services between two Hostico client accounts.
In this tutorial, the necessary steps for transferring a service to another Hostico user will be presented.
Introduction
- In the following article, we will go through each step for the procedure of transferring services from one Hostico client account to another.
- The tutorial is divided into two stages: The first segment for the one who relinquishes the service, and the last segment for the one who receives the service.
Requirements
- An active service;
- Hostico Client Account created by the new beneficiary;
- Valid email addresses;
Assignor Steps
After logging into the client account, we will select the Services section. If you want to move a domain, access Domains.
In the opened window, we will access the service we want to transfer.
The next step takes us to the Actions section, from where we will select Transfer the service:
In order to initiate the transfer of the service to another user, it will be necessary for the new beneficiary to provide you with the client code. This code can be queried on the main page of the Hostico client account immediately after logging in.
The client code is located in the User -> Client Profile.
After filling in the space with the beneficiary's ID, the Transfer button will be pressed. In this way, the service transfer will be initiated.
The service provider will receive an email at the email address in the client account, in which their consent for the transfer is requested. By clicking on Accept Transfer, the action will be confirmed.
Beneficiary Steps
The beneficiary will receive an email at the Hostico customer account address requesting Acceptance of the transfer.
By clicking on --Accept Transfer-- the operation will be completed.
At this moment, the service transfer process has been completed, and the Hostico sales team will take over the request.
If the service is a hosting package, it will be found in the Services section, and the domain will be found in the Domains section.
An email confirming the successful completion of the procedure will also be sent to the email address of the account.
Note
- The transfer of services is not an automated process. After the procedure is completed, an operator will take over the submitted request and will manually transfer the services from one customer account to another.
- The transfer of a service cannot be performed if there is a proforma invoice generated in the customer account or if the service to be transferred does not have an Active status. If you wish to transfer such a service, please contact the sales department.
- In most cases, when a domain is being transferred, the holder's data is automatically transferred; however, with the transfer of the .ro domain, the holder's data does not change automatically upon a WHOIS check from Rotld, the procedure can be done for a fee. More details regarding this aspect can be found in the article changing the holder.
- As a result of the service transfer, all usage rights will be transferred to the new owner, including the assumption of payment for future invoices.
- The transfer can be made within 7 days from the initiation of the request, after which the transfer will expire and it will need to be re-initiated.
- To avoid situations in which the service transfer notification system is used for spam purposes, transfer links can be generated a maximum of 4 times.
