Information regarding the management of Hostico services, as well as cPanel & Plesk updates

The services and technologies Hostico offers to our clients are constantly being updated to improve the overall user experience. Below, we invite you to review the latest news from the company, as well as the changes made to the cPanel and Plesk commercial policy.
Online payment processor
At the end of April 2022, we announced the move of bank accounts to Banca Transilvania, as well as the opening of a USD account for clients who wish to pay their bills in American dollars.
The transition process went excellently, and the feedback received after the change was positive. As a result, we decided to centralize card payment services also within BT.
The conversion to the new processor will take place on 06/04/2023 and will implement two new features:
- A payment portal in USD for all customers accessing the Hostico.com version, namely those who have set the currency to USD in their account
- A new card management system that allows the addition and management of multiple cards
Adding cards will significantly facilitate the bill payment process; once the data has been saved in the account, it will no longer need to be re-entered for future transactions.
As a service provider, Hostico will not store the "sensitive" data related to cards inserted into the platform, this process being carried out entirely by the payment processor.
With the implementation of card management, customers who have recurring payments activated for a service before the date 06/04/2023 will need to update their card details used for recurring payments. The affected individuals will be contacted by the Hostico support team to ensure the continuity of the recurrence on the new implemented system.
Changing the card processor will not bring major changes regarding the transaction process from the client account, and the interface you are familiar with so far remains unchanged. We recommend consulting the articles Card Management and Recurring Payment Management for more in-depth information.
Support hours
For us, the support system represents one of the cornerstones in our relationship with customers. Based on this, we want to broaden the horizons of the services offered. As a result, we have designed a new system on the client side where hosting package holders can choose to purchase support hours in order to carry out operations not included in the standard support.
The tracking of support hours at the request level will be done based on the time allocated to solving the issue by the Hostico technical operator. Overall administration of the operations carried out, as well as the general situation of the remaining hours, can be monitored from the graphical interface found in the client account.
The support hours can be used both by the main account administrator and by any technical subaccounts that have been approved for this type of operations.
Standard support will continue to be free when purchasing any hosting package managed by Hostico.

cPanel & Plesk Pricing Updates
Starting from 01/01/2023, the cPanel license provider (also the owner of the Plesk brand) has increased the prices for all types of cPanel (WHM) and Plesk licenses.
As in the case of previous price increases, we have decided to meet the needs of our customers, thus, in the first months, the cost increases were fully covered by Hostico. However, following these changes, we are forced to adjust the license prices to reflect these changes. Therefore, starting from 23/03/2023, cPanel and Plesk licenses will have the following pricing structure:
*The prices in the table are calculated for monthly billing periods and do not include the applicable VAT of 19%.
The increase in the cost of acquiring licenses will not affect the base rate of shared hosting packages, with the price difference still being covered by us.
For VPS / Reseller hosting packages that were activated before the date of 23/03/2023, the new rate will be applied only from 01/05/2023.
In the Reseller hosting packages, the new price will only reflect on additional accounts (beyond the 10 offered by default).
We understand the financial impact that these price increases have on the contracted services, however unfortunately we cannot influence the decisions of the third-party provider.
