When accessing the site, I receive the error message: Your connection is not secure or Your connection is not private. What is the cause?
This article presents the method for resolving the error Your connection is not secure or Your connection is not private.
The error message Your connection is not secure or Your connection is not private, displayed by the browser when accessing the site is caused by the lack of an SSL certificate installed on the hosting or the fact that the SSL certificate has expired.
This message does not mean that the site is down or unavailable. It can still be accessed by clicking the Advanced button, then Proceed to domeniu.tld (unsafe).
If you have a purchased SSL certificate, you will need to renew it for the site to be functional.
If you are using free SSL certificates, normally, there should not be any issues, as this type of certificate renews automatically. Problems may arise when you block access to .txt files via .htaccess. This type of file must be accessible, as it is used for validation and issuance of the certificate. There may also be issues with automatic renewal when you have rewrite rules in .htaccess that prevent direct access to files. If the certificate still does not renew after checking .htaccess (it may take a few hours), please contact technical support for thorough checks.
