No. According to ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) directives, each email address used for the first time during the registration of a gTLD domain (.com, .net, .org) must be verified. The received email is sent by the provider and should not be ignored.

If within 14 days of registration the mailbox has not been verified, the domain will be locked and the site activity suspended.
